The reverse swing architect, legendary seamer Wasim Akram hailed cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar as ‘true master of the game’ while in conversation with Gulf News.
The 1992 World Cup winning cricketer was all praise about Master Blaster Tendulkar, “a great guy, a true master of the game. No controversy despite a long career. It has only been cricket for him on and off the field. The best cricketer the world has seen.”
The 51-year-old was at the Sharjah Book Fair, while he lauded Tendulkar as a cricketer and also revealed that Sunil Gavaskar’s wicket will be the most prized scalp in his entire cricketing career.
The former Pakistan captain has eulogized Tendulkar’s talents on previous occasion too. While speaking to Khaleej Times back in 2015, Akram was quoted as saying, “I had the gut feeling that this boy was something special. When he made his debut against us in Pakistan I was stunned by his technique and the way he played, the way he got back to play after being hit on the chin.”
